Labrador Retriever Puppy Training

Labradors are a well-balanced and remarkably versatile breed. They make very good pets and are adaptable and can be trained for a wide range of roles. Of course they are excellent retrievers, but they are not prone to a variety of other bad traits associated with other breeds, including: aggression, destructiveness, territorialism, pining, insecurity, hypersensitivity - just to name a few. Labradors have a steady temperament and make an excellent family dog.  They are intelligent dogs and have the ability to learn quickly, thus making them an ideal breed for assistance dogs and are often used as guide dogs.

There are basically two methods of house breaking a Labrador Puppy:

  1. CRATE TRAINING: Crate training is the most effective method for housebreaking to ensure that a puppy is fully trained.
  2. PAPER TRAINING:  Paper training risks only partial housebreaking as a puppy learns that it is acceptable to relieve itself indoors.
