The Shar-Pei is a large dog originally bred as a working dog. They have a short coat that requires little grooming, but the folds in their loose skin require regular cleaning. An intelligent dog that needs a dominant master and diligent training. Socialization and training from a young age is recommended so it will accept children and other animals.
